I started out as a chef, a natural progression after working in the hospitality industry since I was 16. I was studying anthropology at the time and not surprisingly my interests overlaped. I become very interested in the food in other cultures and the ritual of production and consumption that accompany it. I started exploring traditional food making practices such as breadmaking, cheesemaking and winemaking. Now I do a number of things; make cheese, work in a restaurant, run a food website (other then the blog)and participate in as many food related seminars, workshops etc that time and money permit.
